Special Notice to Network Associates II Claimants

If you previously submitted an approved Proof of Claim in In re Network Associates, Inc. II Sec. Litig., Case No. CV-00-4849-MJJ, a securities class action involving McAfee's predecessor corporation, Network Associates, Inc. ("Network Associates II Class Action"), you are automatically deemed to be an eligible claimant with respect to those previously approved transactions only. (If you would like to verify the details of the claim approved in the Network Associates II Class Action, please call 1(800) 893-4359 in the United States, or send an email to Questions@McAfeeSECsettlement.com)

However, if you engaged in, and wish to submit a claim for, additional transactions in McAfee (f/k/a Network Associates, Inc.) common stock during the period from August 17, 1998 through December 26, 2000 for which a claim was not previously approved in the Network Associates II Class Action, you must submit a Proof of Claim Form and all required documentation with respect to those additional transactions. For example, because the recovery period for the SEC/McAfee, Inc. Fair Fund is longer (trade date August 17, 1998 through trade date December 26, 2000) than the class period involved in the Network Associates II Class Action (trade date April 15, 1999 through trade date December 26, 2000), you may have additional transactions in Network Associates common stock for the period from August 17, 1998 through and including December 26, 2000 that were not approved in that class action. For those and any other stock transactions for which a claim was not previously approved in the Network Associates II Class Action, you would be required to submit a Proof of Claim Form.

In addition, if you are a custodian, trustee or professional investing and claiming on behalf of more than one potentially eligible claimant in a pooled investment fund or entity, you will be required to certify that any distribution you receive will be allocated for the benefit of current or former investors and not for the benefit of management. You must comply with that certification requirement even for those previously approved stock transactions for which you are not required to submit another Proof of Claim Form. See Certification Regarding Pooled Investment Distributions.

If you have additional questions regarding the above, please call 1(800) 893-4359 in the United States, or send an email to Questions@McAfeeSECsettlement.com.
